Senso - Classroom Device Monitoring - Dene Magna & Sixth Form

Senso can be used by classroom staff to monitor the PCs, laptops or Chromebook devices being used by your class. This is available to you on both Dene Magna School and Sixth Form sites. It works by linking with Google Classroom to allow you to see the devices the students in the Google class are working on.
NOTE: Senso is not currently available in ICT1, ICT2 or ICT3.  Impero is installed in here instead.

Launching Senso

You can access Senso from the School Website Useful Links > Staff  (https://www.denemagna.co.uk/page/?title=Quicklinks&pid=297) or go to https://ne-3.senso.cloud/
Login with your Google Account.

Anyone set as a Teacher in a Google Classroom Class (this can be any member of staff e.g. Teaching Assistants) will then have their Google Classes showing in the left hand side of the Senso portal under "My Google Classes".   See an example here:-

Using Senso

Select your class from the list on the left hand side of Senso.  Your students will be shown in List View by default

Select Thumbnail view to view the tiled screens

Senso Tools

You have a number of tools in Senso for controlling and sending data to the devices. For example, Block Web, Lock Screen, Send File, Send Msg, Control.

However, before using these tools you MUST tick the device/student(s) in the List or Thumbnail view before sending the command

How to Delete a Google Class from the Senso list

Senso synchronises with Google Classroom each day and will look for all of your active Google Classroom classes.  You may see older classes that you no longer have or use.

To remove a Class from the Senso list that you no longer use,  select the class, then click the red minus arrow.

NOTE: You MUST also archive the class in Google Classroom, otherwise it will sync overnight and reappear in Senso.

How to Archive a Google Classroom Class

From your Google Classroom Home page
Select the 3 dots on the class you want to archive
Select Archive

If you would like futher support or training in using Senso, or if you spot that some computers are not connecting, please contact ICT Support.
