BROMCOM - STICK NOTES
What are they?
Within Bromcom, there is a feature called a ‘sticky note’. It is a special kind of note on the system that has an expiry date and disappears after the time set when creating it.
They can be accommodating as they display when taking a register, so they are great at communicating temporary information about a student to any of their teachers.
When should I use them?
If you have information you want to communicate to teachers about a student, and you want teachers to see this while taking the register.
This might be a temporary message about that student, which it would be helpful for all their teachers to know.
Depending on the message, you may also want to make other staff, such as heads of the house or student support mentors, aware. This is best done using a direct email to those groups
How do I use them?
Creating
Any staff member with student access permission can create sticky notes.
• Go into the student record in Bromcom, and on the left-hand side on the main profile screen, you will see notes (highlighted in yellow)
You can review/edit any set notes. There are three types of notes, and you can only have one note of each type active at any time.
• To add a stick note, click on the + symbol and select stick note from the box that appears
• The above pop-up will then open. Set the expiry date (by default, 5 days), and type in the information you wish people to know. There is a limit of 1000 characters, so please be clear.
• Click save, and the sticky note will go live.
After the set time for expiry has gone by, the note will auto-delete.
Viewing
The great thing about sticky notes is they appear on the register screen.
When taking the register, look at the flags section. If you see the sticky note icon, you can hover over it to display the note.
This lets you quickly see relevant information about your students, so you are fully aware.
